Review Elements

Our book reviews are broken up into 14 elements. This allows us to dig deeper when writing our reviews and organize our thoughts more accurately.
01
Characters
Characters are what drive the story. Or at least, they should. In order to have a great story, you need great characters.
03
Plot
Plot = substance. Does your story have substance?
02
Conflict
There are many types of conflict. But it's how you use that conflict that determines which way your story will go.
04
Resolution
Not all stories resolve with a happy ending. Some don't resolve at all. How does your story end?
05
Structure
Structure is just as important as plot. Without structure, the plot becomes confusing and the information unreadable.
07
Plot Twists
Plot twists are the mighty explosions that impact your story in a way that keeps people talking. However, if not used responsibly, they have the power to wreck your story in a way that may be deemed irrepairable.
06
Pacing
Pacing can make or break your story. Don't let bad pacing cost you your audience.
08
Worldbuilding
Where will you take us? Where will we go?
09
Genre(s)
Genre is the little box we put our story in and is usually the first thing that determines whether or not someone will read it.
11
Book Title
A book's title goes hand and hand with its cover. Give them a story, without giving them the story.
13
Strengths
What made your story strong?
10
Book Cover
They say don't judge a book by its cover, but the cover is one of the main reasons that we picked up the book in the first place.
12
Overall Enjoyability
Not everyone will like your book. And that's ok. Don't base your credibility of being an author on someone else's opinions.
14
Weaknesses
What made your story weak?
How are our book reviews different from our editorial assessments?
The book reviews that we provide are more extensive than the average book review, and provides you with feedback that we believe will take you further in your author career.
Unlike our editorial assessments:
-
Our book reviews are spoil free. Readers will get a feel for your book without feeling like they’ve read it already.
-
Our book reviews are priced by page count. We don’t believe that it’s fair to have a shorter length book priced the same as a longer book.
-
Our book reviews include fewer elements.
-
Our book reviews don’t include a chapter by chapter or page by page analysis.
-
Our book reviews take less time.
-
Our book reviews are more affordable.
-
Our book reviews are published on our site unless you opt out. We advise that you please read the Book Review Publishing Disclaimer below for more information.
-
Our book reviews are only for published works of fiction. If we can't find your book online, then we can't perform a review of your book. At that point, we advise that you take a look at our editorial assessment services or book editing services.
Rules and Regulations
Must be a Complete and Published Work of Fiction
At this time, we are only taking completed, fictional works into consideration. If you’re interested in a deep dive analysis on an unpublished work of fiction, please take a look at our editorial assessment services or book editing services.
You Must Submit Your Request and Then Fill Out the Form
In order for your written work to be taken into consideration, you must submit a request for us to review your book, and if it's accepted, you must fill out a Book Review Request form. If you submit your request any other way, it will not count as received and we may not respond.
You Must Meet Age Requirements
We do not work with anyone under the age of 13. Those who are between the ages of 13 and 17 must obtain a signature from a parent or legal guardian. Signatures can be applied to the Book Review Request form in the appropriate field.
Must be a Novel, Novella, or Short Story
Accepted works include novels, novellas, and short stories. At this time, anything that falls outside of those three categories are not permitted. We are not accepting poems, children’s picture books, essay’s, textbooks or guides, memoirs, or articles.
Must be a Written Work
All submissions must be written works. We are not accepting submissions for anything video and/or audio related.
Must Not Include Plagiarism or Copyright Infringement
If your work is found to be plagiarized or infringe on someone else's copyright, we will decline your request. All written work must be your own. If your work is found to be plagiarized or infringe on someone else's copyright after a book review has already been done, you will be stripped of your awards (if you've earned any), the public will be notified via social media, your book will be posted on our book reviews page with the words 'INFRINGES ON COPYRIGHT' or 'PLAGIARIZED', and we will no longer accept you as a client.
Must Not Include AI
If your work is found to be written by AI, we will decline your request. We want to review YOUR work, not a computer's theft. If your work is found to be written by AI after a book review has already been done, you will be stripped of your awards (if you earned any), the public will be notified via social media, your book will be posted on our book reviews page with the words 'WRITTEN BY AI', and we will no longer accept you as a client.
Partial Reviews
Partial book reviews are not permitted. If you submit a 300 page book, but you only request for the first 50 pages to be reviewed, your request for a book review will be declined.
